Each project is unique and my process can vary depending on the needs and desires of the client. No matter the scope, each project begins with a problem to investigate. Often this means speaking with clients to see what their needs are. Other times it's researching what's on the market currently and what is a gap that can be filled. Once the design problem has been identified I begin to ideate - filling sketchbooks with rough ideas, both good and bad. At this stage I often like to write out my ideas, as well as sketching small thumbnails. Once I have found a solution to pursue I begin my favorite stage in the design process: creating a prototype. Generally I start with a low-fidelity paper prototype used to figure out the flow of the project and standard layout. Once I have tested the structure I produce a high-fidelity digital prototype for user testing. Once a prototype has passed the testing phase it's time for production. This means I am finalizing all graphics and either passing it on to developers or I am coding and producing it myself. Attention to detail is critical. Everything must be pixel perfect. Lastly it's time to evaluate the finished product. This included bug-testing as well as completing any documentation the project might require.
